About Somsimma

SOMSIMMA is a small well-run non for-profit Company that transformed the lives of Deaf children and young adults in remote areas.

SOMSIMMA specialises in the education of the poor and vulnerable children and can be agile, innovative and responsive to needs, without bureaucracy and politics of larger organisation.

SOMSIMMA is run by a team in London (UK) who are able to work with the locals, understand the specific challenges faced and are better positioned to build relationships in the community. They can help the nomadic children and young adults who are the hardest to reach.

SOMSIMMA provides the Deaf education they have never had before and finds those that would normally be out of reach.

SOMSIMMA is committed to see disabled nomadic children in Somalia fulfil their potential.

  • These are the deaf children in Buhoodle School for the deaf. They are receiving $20.00 each as a community donation. Their families are highly affected by the famine without water or food to survive except the occasional supply of drinking water as part of the 'SOS' local relieve community donations.
